Makeup Of The Day

Today’s makeup of the day was very simple. I wanted an easy eye with a bold lip. I also decided to rock some messy hair. Lipstick is Mac’s Smoked Purple.

Springtime Goals

Coming from an area that has a cold climate for most months out of the year, spring is something I look forward to. People get depressed during the winter where I come from. When the sun starts to come out and shine more, so do the people. The grass gets greener, I tend to get leaner, and positivity just floats through the air. This spring I’m making more goals for myself; I find I’m most productive when I set and accomplish goals. Spreading inspiration is a want of mine, and for this reason I decided to share my goals with all of you! Maybe it’ll inspire others to create and complete goals this spring too.

  1. Create and stick to a weekly schedule. I’m awful when it comes to keeping a strict schedule. I blame this on the fact that I have done a majority of my schooling from home. I have great self motivation but I am used to doing things when I feel like it. I realize this isn’t exactly fair to any readers that are expecting my posts, so this is something I am going work really hard to change. I also want to get on a schedule that will include exercise as well.  Working on a computer all day means I also sit on my butt quite a bit. Exercise is essential, and our generation doesn’t get enough of it because of technology. I need to increase my activity level.
  2. Try to have an overall healthier diet. My diet isn’t absolutely horrible, but it really isn’t the greatest either. I need to eat more throughout the day, have healthier, and better balanced meals. Bettering oneself should always be a thought, especially when it comes to health. Improving my overall health is a major goal of mine.
  3. Wake up earlier. When it comes to sleeping…lets just say I suck at counting sheep. My sheep are, metaphorically speaking, are demon-like with knives and they torture me all night. Whoa wait where is this going? Clearly, I’m in need of some sleep right now. Anyway…I really want to start waking up earlier. I hate waking up late because I feel like I have little to no time to get things done. I need to become the boss of my sheep and start waking up when the rooster cockadoodledoos. What is with my obsession with farm animals today? 😛
  4. My last goal is very blog/traffic oriented. Improving my use of Pinterest in order to get better Pinterest related traffic. I’m a bit of a Pinterest newbie but I do know that a lot of people like to get their blog reading fill through Pinterest. I want anyone that can gain something from reading my posts to be able to access them on the platform they are most comfortable using. 🙂

Setting goals is important for all of us human beings. We couldn’t improve ourselves, or the world that we live in if we didn’t set goals. These are my goals for the spring, in the comments share your springtime goals with me! I’d love to hear them and they may even encourage me to make more goals!

As always, I hope you are doing well, cya next time Lovebirds!

Happy Easter!

Hiya! I know Easter is still a few days away but I wanted to get this post up beforehand. 🙂

This is a look I did today that really reminded me of Easter, and all of the wonderful springy colors that I love. Pops of color on holidays are something that I think makes a fun change. Plus, even if you are going to a fancy place for Easter you will most likely be with family, why not use a bit of color? I would just suggest not to go too over the top.

If your family isn’t crazy about makeup or color…well you could always use this time to REBEL…or just sneak a bit of color on your lower lash line ;P  I’m just kidding. Do what makes you comfortable, and what makes you feel beautiful, and special. I’m very fortunate to have a family, boyfriend, and friends that all understand and accept my addiction to makeup. Yet, we live in a world that not everyone is as accepting. 🙁

My Easter Plans

Before I show my look, I figured I would talk a bit about my plans for Easter first. I’m actually pretty excited this year. When I was younger I was totally all about the baskets, and the candy. This year I’m excited to see some of my siblings, hangout, and eat lots of amazing food!

I have a large family, and there are some huge age gaps between some of my siblings and I. For this reason I won’t be spending the holiday with all of my siblings; some of them have their own children to spend Easter with. Though I will be going to a really nice brunch with a lot of fantastic people. My boyfriend, mom, nephew, and two of my sisters will be attending a brunch at a fancy shmancy local restaurant.

My family usually does holidays at home, but for some reason we didn’t feel like cooking and cleaning up afterwards. By going to a brunch this wont be an issue. Another positive about this brunch is that the restaurant we will be going to only uses local ingredients. Being a girl who really recognizes our impacts on the environment, this means a lot to me, and I really do wish there were even more restaurants like this.

Easter Look

easter 2.5

Please ignore the bit of skin texture I’ve got going on. I’m a bit dehydrated and my skin is really showing it off today. I need to start pounding the water bad!

I really wanted to use lot of Easter/spring colors for this look. I was so inspired when I did my makeup this morning, and I was super happy with how the look turned out. My boyfriend and mother were also really big fans.

Quick Eye Steps:

  1.  Using a fluffy round crease brush blend Makeup Geek Peach Smoothie into the crease and upper crease. Blend out really well.
  2.  Blend Makeup Geek Cupcake into the crease staying a bit lower. Build up the color a little bit, still blending out really well to get rid of any harsh edges.
  3. Blend out a little bit of MAC Jest on top of the two Makeup Geek shades to give a bit of shimmer and to brighten the look up.
  4. Use Make Up For Ever S908 Mauve and blend this out on the outer corner of your eyes in a triangle type motion. It took a bit to build up the color to what I wanted.
  5. Now switch brushes to a flat shading brush. Apply Make Up For Ever S314 Nile Green on the eyelid. Pack the color on nice and good.
  6. Now switch back to whatever fluffy crease brush you like and blend out the Mauve shade using the shade Make Up For Ever I918 Lavender. You can also use Makeup Geek Cupcake as well if you feel you need it. I went back and forth between the two to blend out the colors till I got the desired look I wanted.
  7. Next, switch to a flat definer brush and smoke out your lower lashline with Makeup Geek Preppy and Cupcake.
  8. Use eyeliner to line your eyes however you wish, along with mascara or falsies, then go about the rest of your makeup! 🙂

Other Products I used:

Lips: Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade Mother. I did end up changing my lip color to a MAC lipstick in the shade Faux later on though…because it is my favorite. 🙂

Lashes: KOKO lashes in the style Foxy.

Highlight: Becca x Jaclyn Hill in the shade Champagne Pop.

Blush: Tarte in the shade Beaming.

Contour: Mac Sculpting Powder in the shade Sculpt.

Brows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow in the Shade Soft Brown.

I hope everyone has a great Easter! If you don’t celebrate Easter, I hope you have a great weekend and that this post inspired you to try out some spring colors, because we don’t get too much time to enjoy them. It feels like spring and summer go by so quickly!

Always stay inspired Lovebirds,

I’ve been feeling very inspired to do dramatic looks with color. I did do a really awesome tangerine smokey eye that I wanted to post but the pictures came out awful! I’ll probably recreate that look in the future and try to get decent pictures of it.

This was the second color inspired look I created. I think this look is truly enthralling. It would be perfect for so many occasions and it really brings out brown eyes!

Wear It Any Day, Anywhere, Anytime…I Mean You Are A Fairy Princess!

If you’re like me and you really don’t care how glam you go on a daily basis then wear this on a random Wednesday! I wore this exact look to Pizza Hut with my boyfriend, when we had to go pick up our pizza. Which…was made incorrectly might I add and given to us burnt. Anyway, back on topic.

Don’t let anyone tell you what is too much or too little to wear…Well unless it’s clothing and you’re out in public. You may want to listen to people in that sort of situation.

Flashy Lashy

The lashes I am wearing are very dramatic. I tried out the KOKO Lashes in the style Foxy. The band on these lashes were a bit more stiff than the House of Lashes premium line of lashes. Which is saying something because those bands are stiffer than most. I still really enjoyed these lashes and found that I was able to blend them in nicely. I could only notice the band in certain lighting.

I Apologize, Again

The lipstick I am wearing with this look happens to be yet again… MAC lipstick in the shade Faux. I cannot get enough of this color. I just want to wear it all day, everyday. If I could,  I would get a bathtub filled with these lipsticks, and just smear them all over my body! Too far? Okay..sorry.

Define & Shine

I contoured my cheekbones with MAC Sculpt and highlighted with Becca’s Moonstone. I did my lip using the same method mentioned in my last post.

Hush, Hush, Blush, Blush

The blushes I’m wearing on my cheeks are no longer available for sale because they were limited edition :(. However, some of you out there may have them. I used the most current Tarte holiday blush palette. I mixed the two shades Prim and Smashing.

mufe shadows

New Goodies!

Recently, I purchased nine MUFE Artist Eye Shadows. I used all three of these shades to create this look. In my crease I also used MAC Kid, Omega, and Wedge. I used Fir Tree Green on my outer corners of my eyes. Periwinkle was used slightly in my crease to blend out the shade Blueberry. I also used MAC Espresso and Wedge to buff out the lower lash line.

I really only bought the shade Blueberry because it has the same name as my bird. When I swatched it I was disappointed at first. I always test products out even if the swatches disappoint because products can end up performing better for their intended purpose.

I’m now completely impressed with these shadows and plan to buy even more at some point.

I aim for these makeup inspiration posts to open the creative minds of others and give a vast array of pictures to draw ideas from. Also, I noticed that I am getting views from all over the world and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that stops by and reads what I post.

Have a great weekend!

Spring is coming and so are the fresh faced, rosy looks! As the weather starts to warm up I feel myself getting more excited to start wearing tons of luscious pink hues. Not to mention, the spring/summer makeup collections are already rolling out. Usually, I’m more captivated by fall makeup looks, but not right now! I’m overflowing with excitement for the warm weather! This spring and summer I’m hoping to travel around a bit with the boyfriend. Maybe this year I’ll finally get some color! Or I could always fake it.

In the comments, let me know what your favorite self tanner is and what your spring/summer plans are!

The Products

SAM_0281 I love my custom palettes. I love having all of the colors I gravitate towards in one easy to reach place. These are my favorite palettes in my collection at the moment. The z-palette to the left, is filled with my favorite MAC and Makeup Geek eyeshadows. I plan to do a more in depth post about this palette in the future. I want to switch a few of the colors out first, as I don’t use them as much.

The smaller z-palette to the right has two MAC Cream Color Bases and a Sculpting Powder. The Cream Color Bases are in the shades Pearl and Shell. The Sculpting Powder is in the shade Sculpt. MAC Emphasize will be joining this palette whenever it arrives in the mail. It was out of stock when I placed my last order. Below that is my MAC blush palette.

The brushes featured are a mixture of Sigma and Morphe. The eyeliner pictured is the Ardency Inn Modster eyeliner. This eyeliner is literally God’s gift to anyone that likes REALLY intense black eyeliner in the water line. The travel sized pigment is by MAC in the shade Rose. This pigment is incredibly gorgeous. I don’t use it nearly enough, because pigments in general can be quite messy to work with.

These are some of my favorite go to products, when I want to create the perfect look, especially if I’m in a rush.

The Look

pic 1 (2)These pictures were taken inside with a softbox light that has daylight bulbs. The lighting wasn’t very good outside today. As summer approaches, more and more pictures will be taken outdoors! 🙂 I’m wearing MAC Velvet Teddy on my lips, and my brows are filled in with Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow in the shade Soft Brown.

I love my wings sharp & my cheeks dewy!

The positive side about taking pictures inside today? Everyone gets to meet my bird! Here’s Blueberry. She’s addicted to kisses, cuddles, and singing along to music. The cage in the background is much bigger than what’s visible. She lives like a princess and acts like one too. She doesn’t look the best, right now…she’s molting and needs a bath soon. Blue may show up again in later posts<3
